Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department

The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) in Plymouth, Mass., first hired InfoCode in 2004. The department, which employs more than 700 professionals, is responsible for running the county correctional facility, ensuring the safety of county residents and delivering documents to the county court.

The communications department of the Sheriff’s Office serves as the liaison between sheriffs, paramedics and hospitals. Because of the number of calls it receives each day and the urgency of most of these calls, the PCSD contracted with InfoCode to provide a geographical coding program that allows the communications department to access telephone numbers related to a particular area on a map.

The PCSD frequently uses the data to inform the community about traffic re-routes, water service interruption, motor vehicle updates and mandatory water restrictions.

According to Nikki Callahan, office manager for the Field Services Division, when quick changes need to be made to the map data, the Infocode customer service team is their lifeline to get the new information uploaded.
